Applying to the Program
Students that wish to apply to the Midwifery Education Program must complete both an online application for admission to the University of British Columbia (Enrolment Services) and a supplemental application to the Midwifery Program directly.

Former or current UBC students must apply to UBC Enrolment Services (for readmission or faculty transfer) by logging into their Student Service Centre. A $60 application fee applies.

At present, because of the small number of students who can be accepted into the Program, preference is given to residents of British Columbia, Canadian citizens, and permanent residents of Canada.
Online applications for admission to the University of British Columbia open in October. Applications must be completed by December 1, 2011.
The Supplemental Application for the Bachelor of Midwifery Program for the winter session beginning September 2012 opens December 1, 2011. Applications must be submitted online via this web site and completed by January 16, 2012 (see Supplemental Application).
Official transcripts are to be received by Enrolment Services with the University application by the deadline of January 15, 2012. Please note that UBC requires that all transcripts be received directly from the issuing institution.
Applicants invited for an interview can expect notification by email. Interviews are normally held during the last week of March.

- Pay the $61.20 non-refundable application fee to UBC via youbc by credit card only
- Have Official Transcripts sent to Enrolment Services
- Complete the Division of Midwifery online Supplemental Application
- Send the $105 supplemental application fee to the Division of Midwifery
Midwifery Enrolment History
Entrance to the Midwifery Program is very competitive. Since the inception of the Midwifery Program it has received approximately 110 applications each year for the 10 seats available. Successful applicants have extensive volunteer and/or work experience and often have post secondary credits or a previous degree with a minimum average of 75%.
